LG 65EJ5E (Discontinued) · Replacements in Qatar

Name: LG 65EJ5E 65-inch Wallpaper OLED Video Wall Display
Brand: LG
SKU: lg-65ej5e
Availability: Discontinued

Overview

The LG 65EJ5E is a 65-inch wallpaper OLED video wall panel with 3,840 x 2,160 UHD resolution and a 0.9 mm even off-bezel, built to tile edge to edge. This model is discontinued, so buyers who already own it or need a matching panel for an existing wall should ask for a quote on a current equivalent or compatible replacement. It suits boardrooms, lobbies and retail walls in Doha.

A flush OLED panel for walls that must blend in

The LG 65EJ5E is a 65-inch wallpaper OLED video wall panel from the EJ5 series. It is designed to sit close to the wall surface, which suits feature walls where a conventional mounted screen would look out of place. Its native 3,840 x 2,160 UHD resolution gives sharp 4K detail, and because each pixel produces its own light, dark areas stay truly black. LG has discontinued this model. This page serves organisations that already run the panel, buyers comparing it with newer options, and anyone who needs a matching replacement for an existing wall.

Specifications that shape the purchase

The head unit measures 1,445.1 x 822.6 x 6.0 mm and weighs 13.5 kg as a set, while the separate signage box measures 782.8 x 35.5 x 239.0 mm. The carton measures 1,590 x 965 x 205 mm and weighs 23.4 kg packed. Typical brightness is 400 cd/m² at APL25% and 150 cd/m² at APL100%, figures that point to indoor rooms with controlled light. The off-bezel is 0.9 mm on every edge, so tiled panels present a continuous image.

Connections, control and content

Inputs: HDMI, DP and two USB 2.0 ports
Outputs: DP and audio
Control: RS232C in and out, RJ45 in and out, and an external IR receiver

A LAN daisy chain lets a controller send commands to every screen in a tiled wall, check their status and push firmware updates along the chain. The panel is not OPS compatible, but an external media player can be attached. Content is managed with SuperSign CMS, and monitoring runs through SuperSign Control+ or SuperSign Control.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three situations suit this panel well:

A hotel lobby in West Bay or The Pearl, where a wall of content must sit flush with the finishes around it.
A ministry or authority reception in Msheireb, where a tiled display presents services and wayfinding without a bulky frame.
A private school in Al Wakrah or Lusail fitting out a hall, where several 65-inch units can show timetables and presentations.

Qatar's summer heat matters here. The stated operating range is 0°C to 40°C, with humidity between 10% and 80%. Outside temperatures can pass 45°C, so the panel belongs in an air-conditioned interior with steady cooling.

What to plan before ordering

Wall fixers are supplied and are driven into the wall before the panel hangs on them.
The built-in power supply accepts 100-240V~ at 50/60Hz, with typical draw of 440 W and a maximum of 478 W.
Listed certifications include IEC 60950-1, EN 60950-1, UL 60950-1, FCC Class A, CE and KC.

SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey to check wall load, cable routes, cooling and power before installation. Quotations are usually issued within one working day, and we accept purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat. Because this model is discontinued, send us your wall dimensions and panel count, and we will quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement. Request a quote today.

Questions about 65EJ5E

Is the LG 65EJ5E still available from LG?

No. LG has discontinued the 65EJ5E, so the most useful step is to request a quote for a current equivalent or a compatible replacement. Send us the number of panels and the wall size, and SmartRooms Qatar will recommend options and issue a quotation, usually within one working day.

Would the 65EJ5E suit a hotel lobby in West Bay?

Yes, a lobby feature wall is one of its most natural uses. The 6.0 mm head depth and 0.9 mm off-bezel let a 65-inch wallpaper OLED panel sit close to the finish of a West Bay or Pearl hotel wall, so guests see content rather than hardware. Because the design relies on a stable indoor environment, confirm the lobby cooling with our team during the site survey.

How bright is the panel, and does it suit a room with sunlight?

The panel is rated at 400 cd/m² at APL25% and 150 cd/m² at APL100%. These typical figures suit air-conditioned rooms with controlled lighting, such as a boardroom or lecture room in Education City, rather than a glass frontage facing the afternoon sun. Discuss the lighting conditions at your site before you order.

What operating temperature does the 65EJ5E tolerate in Qatar's summer?

The stated operating range is 0°C to 40°C, with humidity between 10% and 80%. Qatar summers regularly push outdoor temperatures above 45°C, so the panel should sit in an air-conditioned indoor space that keeps the room within that range. A site survey can confirm whether your existing cooling is adequate for the wall.

What connections does it offer for laptops, media players and AV systems?

Inputs are HDMI, DP and two USB 2.0 ports, and the outputs are DP and audio. The panel is not OPS compatible, but an external media player can be attached. For a school or office that uses a separate PC, an HDMI or DP cable connects the source directly to the first panel in the wall.

Can a tiled wall of these panels be controlled and monitored centrally?

Yes. The panel offers RS232C in and out, RJ45 in and out, and an external IR receiver. A LAN daisy chain lets a controller send commands to each screen, monitor them and update their firmware. Content is managed with SuperSign CMS, and control and monitoring run through SuperSign Control+ or SuperSign Control.

Would this panel work for a private school fitting out a hall in Al Wakrah or Lusail?

It can. A school in Al Wakrah or Lusail refurbishing an assembly hall could use several 65-inch units to build a wall that shows timetables, announcements and presentations. Plan the wall layout with the 0.9 mm off-bezel in mind, and request a quote for the exact number of panels, signage boxes and cables the layout needs.

How much wall space and depth does each unit need?

The head unit measures 1,445.1 x 822.6 x 6.0 mm, while the separate signage box measures 782.8 x 35.5 x 239.0 mm. The head is the thin part that sits on the wall; the signage box needs a nearby position with room for cables and airflow. Bring these dimensions to your site survey so the wall fixers and cable routes are planned in advance.

What is included in the box?

The listed accessories include a remote controller, power cord, quick setup guide, IR receiver, FFC cables between panel and signage box, DP cable, LAN cable, RS232 cable, wall fixers, wall fixer install guide, install guide sheets, tapes for cabling and dust proofing, and screws. Ask us to confirm the accessories that apply to your layout in the quotation.

What power supply does the 65EJ5E need?

The built-in power supply is rated for 100-240V~ at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains. Typical consumption is 440 W on the 8 color bar pattern, with a maximum of 478 W. Plan circuits for the total number of panels in the wall and confirm that the sockets at your site match the BS 1363 Type G standard.

Which certifications are listed for this model?

The manufacturer lists IEC 60950-1, EN 60950-1 and UL 60950-1 for safety, and FCC Class A, CE and KC for EMC. ErP compliance is listed for the EU only, and Energy Star is not listed. The source data does not list a Qatar-specific approval, so ask our team which documents your tender or ministry project requires before issuing a purchase order.

Can SmartRooms Qatar supply a tiled wall for a government ministry through Monaqasat?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar supplies to all eight municipalities, offers professional installation, and accepts LPOs and government tenders, including Monaqasat. For a ministry reception wall, we start with a free site survey covering wall load, cable routes and cooling, then issue a quotation for the panels, signage boxes and wall fixers.
