Overview

The LG 32SM5KB is a 32-inch Full HD commercial display for messaging and signage, now discontinued by LG. It offers 400 cd/m² brightness, portrait orientation, OPS compatibility, webOS 2.0 and support for SuperSign software. It suits shop counters, clinic waiting rooms and office reception areas in Doha. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement.

A Compact 32-inch Panel for Clear Messages

The LG 32SM5KB is a 32-inch commercial display built around a 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD panel with 400 cd/m² brightness. It is intended for shop floors, reception counters and office corridors where a message must be read from a short distance without the bulk of a larger screen. The head measures 729.4 mm by 428.9 mm by 55.5 mm and weighs 5.4 kg. It can run in portrait orientation for menu boards, queue information and vertical wayfinding signs.

Inputs, Outputs and Remote Control

Each signal path is listed separately in the specification. Inputs include one HDMI port with HDCP 2.2, one DisplayPort with HDCP 1.3, one DVI-D with HDCP 2.2 and one analogue RGB port. There is also one audio input, one USB 3.0 port and an SD card slot. A DisplayPort output lets the signal pass on to another display, and an audio output is provided.

Control: RS232C in and out, an RJ45 network port and an IR receiver.
Sensing: a pixel sensor input, with the KT-SP0 sensor available as an option.

Software, Media Players and Accessories

The display runs the webOS 2.0 platform, which provides content creation tools and app development materials. It is listed as compatible with SuperSign-w lite and SuperSign-c. A quad-core SoC handles several playback tasks at the same time. The panel is OPS-compatible, so the optional OPS Kit (KT-OPSA) can add media playback inside the unit, while external media players cannot be attached to its exterior. Optional accessories include the ST-322T stand, the LSW230B wall bracket and the EB-B100 HD Base T unit. The basic package contains a remote controller with two batteries, a power cord, a quick start guide, an RGB cable, a regulation book, a phone-to-RS232C gender adapter and a memory cover.

Where It Fits in Qatar

Three situations suit this model well:

Pharmacy or electronics counter in a Doha mall: a 32-inch screen beside the till can show promotions and product information without taking up much counter space.
Clinic waiting room in Al Sadd: a portrait layout for queue numbers, health messages and directions.
Office reception in West Bay or Lusail: a visitor-facing screen for wayfinding and meeting room details.

Planning Before You Order

Measure the wall or counter before ordering. The mounting interface is VESA 200 mm x 200 mm, and the LSW230B wall bracket and ST-322T stand are optional accessories. The source data does not give an operating temperature range for this model, so confirm the environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before placing it near windows, entrances or outdoor-facing areas, where summer temperatures can pass 45°C. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey before installation and delivers to all eight municipalities of Qatar. Organisations ordering several screens can use a purchase order (LPO) or a government tender, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order.

Discontinued Model and Replacement Options

LG has discontinued the 32SM5KB. Organisations that already run this display and need more units, or a match for an existing installation, should request a quote so our team can identify a current equivalent or a compatible replacement. Questions about 32SM5KB

Is the LG 32SM5KB still available as a new unit?

LG has discontinued the 32SM5KB, so it may not be available as a new unit from the manufacturer. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement instead. Send us the number of screens, the location and the content you need to show, and our team will return a quotation, usually within one working day.

Would this 32-inch display suit a pharmacy or electronics counter in a Doha mall?

Yes, as a counter-side screen. At 32 inches it fits beside a till or display unit, and its Full HD panel with 400 cd/m² brightness helps product images and promotional text stay readable at close range. The webOS 2.0 platform and SuperSign compatibility make content updates straightforward. A free site survey can confirm the best position before installation.

What resolution and brightness does the 32SM5KB offer?

The 32SM5KB has a 32-inch panel with 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD resolution and a brightness rating of 400 cd/m². Full HD suits text, menus and promotional graphics viewed at normal distances, while brightness is the figure to weigh when placing the screen near a bright storefront or window. If you need specifications beyond these, ask the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.

Which video inputs and outputs does it have?

The panel has one HDMI input with HDCP 2.2, one DisplayPort input with HDCP 1.3, one DVI-D input with HDCP 2.2 and one analogue RGB input. It also includes an audio input, a USB 3.0 port and an SD card slot. On the output side there is one DisplayPort output using SST and DP1.2a, one audio output and an RS232C output for control signals.

What software does the 32SM5KB run and how is content managed?

The display runs the webOS 2.0 platform, which provides content creation tools and app development materials, and it is listed as compatible with SuperSign-w lite and SuperSign-c. The source data does not describe the full management workflow, so ask the SmartRooms Qatar team which option suits your existing content system before you place an order.

Can I add an external media player to the 32SM5KB?

The panel is OPS-compatible, so the optional OPS Kit (KT-OPSA) can be used to add media playback. External media players cannot be attached to the outside of the unit, so the OPS route is the one to plan for if you need a player inside the display. Include the OPS Kit in your quotation request and confirm your content software with our team.

Could a school in Education City mount this screen in a corridor?

Yes, provided the wall can take the load. The display uses a 200 mm x 200 mm VESA interface, so a compatible wall bracket is needed. The LSW230B bracket is listed as an optional accessory, and the ST-322T stand is also available. The head weighs 5.4 kg and measures 729.4 mm by 428.9 mm by 55.5 mm. A free site survey lets our team check the wall and cable route before installation.

Is it suitable for a clinic waiting room in Al Sadd where queue numbers appear in portrait?

It can run in portrait orientation, which suits queue numbers, health messages and directions in a waiting area. At 32 inches, the information stays legible for patients in a standard-sized room. The source data gives no operating temperature range for this model, so confirm room conditions with SmartRooms Qatar before placing it near an entrance or a window.

Can I use it in an office lobby in Lusail that faces afternoon sun?

Confirm this first. The 400 cd/m² brightness rating is a useful reference for lobby lighting, but the source data does not give an operating temperature or a sunlight-readability rating for this model. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C near glass, so do not assume a window-facing position is suitable. Send the lobby layout to our team and we will advise on positioning.

What control options does the display offer for a facilities team?

The display includes RS232C input and output, an RJ45 network connection and an IR receiver, so it can be controlled by remote, wired connection or a control system. It also has a pixel sensor input, and the KT-SP0 pixel sensor is listed as an optional accessory. The basic package includes a phone-to-RS232C gender adapter, which helps when connecting a control cable.

What is included in the box with the LG 32SM5KB?

The basic package includes a remote controller with two batteries, a power cord, a quick start guide, an RGB cable, a regulation book, a phone-to-RS232C gender adapter and a memory cover. Optional items are the ST-322T stand, the KT-SP0 pixel sensor, the LSW230B wall bracket, the KT-OPSA OPS Kit and the EB-B100 HD Base T unit. Add any optional items you need to your quotation request.

How can a government department in Doha buy several units through a tender?

SmartRooms Qatar supplies government departments through purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat. For several screens, send the quantity, the installation locations and any mounting requirements, and our team will return a quotation, usually within one working day. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Because this model is discontinued, the quotation will cover a current equivalent or a compatible replacement.
