AP7-B70

What the AP7-B70 is and how it fits the range

The AP7-B70 is the 70-inch model in the ActivPanel Titanium line from the ActivPanel Elements series. It is a 16:9 interactive display with a 4K UHD TFT LCD and direct LED backlight, and it runs its own Android system, so lessons and meetings can begin without a connected computer. The 75-inch and 86-inch Titanium models sit alongside it in the same series, but this page covers only the 70-inch AP7-B70.

Display, touch and sound specifications that matter

Computing, ports and expansion

Android 8 runs on a quad-core processor with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, and the included ActivInspire Professional software runs on top of it. Expansion is handled by one OPS slot, which accepts a compatible OPS computer module so that a PC-class device can sit inside the panel rather than on the desk. The rear panel offers two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.2 input, an HDMI output, two USB-A 2.0 ports, two USB-A 3.0 ports, three USB Touch Type B connections, a 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN port with RS-232 control and Wake-on-LAN. The front adds an HDMI input, a touch USB connection, two USB-A 3.0 ports, a microphone input and a headphone socket. A Wi-Fi module supporting 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) and Bluetooth 4.2 are included.

Where a 70-inch panel fits in Qatar

In a mid-sized classroom in Al Wakrah, the AP7-B70 gives a whole class a readable surface, while the teacher writes with a battery-less pen and erases with the rear end of the same pen. Four pens and a block eraser are supplied, so each teaching space can start with a full set. In a West Bay boardroom or a Msheireb meeting room, a laptop can be shown through HDMI while a separate video conferencing system connects through its own ports, letting a team in Doha annotate a shared document with colleagues abroad. In a training centre in Education City, the built-in classroom tools, such as whiteboard, timer, screen capture and PDF reader, let trainers run sessions without a separate computer.

Planning the installation and the environment

• Net weight is 53 kg and packed weight is 75.5 kg, so plan a team lift and a wall survey before mounting.
• VESA mount points measure 600 x 400 mm, with four M6 screws and a wall mount included.
• Power input is 100-240 V AC, with a maximum draw of 215 W and standby at 0.5 W or less.
• Operating range is 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, with 20 to 80 per cent non-condensing humidity.

Outdoor temperatures in Qatar often exceed 45 degrees Celsius in summer, so position the panel in an air-conditioned room, away from direct sunlight, large windows and dusty entrances. Installation should be carried out by a qualified installer, and components not supplied by Promethean may affect performance, safety and the warranty. The panel is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and terms can vary by distributor, so SmartRooms Qatar will confirm the applicable terms in the quotation. This 70-inch model is listed as Energy Star certified.

Discontinued model: what to do next

Promethean has discontinued the AP7-B70, so this page serves organisations that already run one, buyers comparing it with the wider ActivPanel range, and anyone who needs a replacement. If you already own units, check the model number before ordering accessories. If you are buying new, request a quote with your room size, intended use and number of units, and SmartRooms Qatar will recommend a current equivalent or compatible replacement. Purchase orders (LPOs), government tenders including Monaqasat, and payment by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order are all accepted. Request a quote now and the team will usually respond within one working day.
