AP7-B75

A 75-inch 4K panel built for teaching and meeting rooms

The Promethean AP7-B75 is a 75-inch 4K UHD interactive display from the ActivPanel Elements series, running a built-in Android 8 operating system. Its 3840 x 2160 resolution at 60 Hz keeps text and fine detail crisp in lessons, presentations and shared documents. The LCD panel uses a direct LED backlight, rated at 380 cd/m2 brightness and 4000:1 contrast, and an ambient light sensor adjusts the picture to the room's lighting.

The manufacturer has discontinued this model. Schools and offices that already own it, and buyers comparing it with other sizes, can use the specifications on this page to plan support and layout, or to choose a current equivalent.

Touch, pens and writing performance

Vellum writing technology supports 20 continuous touch points, so several people can write or move objects at the same time. Touch accuracy is rated at 1 mm and the scan rate is 200 Hz. The box includes four battery-less pens with rear erasing, a block eraser and a 3 mm pen tip. The panel tells pen and finger input apart and offers palm detection, so a teacher can rest a hand on the glass while writing.

Connectivity, OPS slot and expansion

• Video inputs: two rear HDMI 2.0 inputs, one front HDMI 2.0 input, one DisplayPort 1.2 input, plus VGA and CVBS, and one HDMI 2.0 output.
• Touch and data: three rear and one front USB Touch (Type B) ports, four USB-A 3.0 ports and two rear USB-A 2.0 ports.
• Network and wireless: 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN in and out, an included Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2x2 module, Bluetooth 4.2, Wake-on-LAN and RS-232.
• Expansion: one OPS slot for a plug-in computing module, with a mini PC bracket and screws in the box.

An OPS slot lets a room run a standardised computing module instead of a separate media player, which suits staff who need to sign in to their own desktops. Android also lets the room run its own apps without a computer connected.

Mounting, power and environment planning in Qatar

The panel measures 1764 x 1089 x 109 mm, weighs 60 kg net and 85.5 kg packed, and uses an 800 x 400 mm VESA mount. A wall mount is included. At this weight, a site survey should confirm wall construction, fixing points and cable routing before installation, and the manufacturer advises that a qualified installer completes the work.

Maximum power draw is 280 W, standby is 0.5 W or less, and the design is fanless, which keeps the room quiet during lessons. The power input covers 100 V to 240 V AC, so it accepts Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz supply. A 3 m regional power cable is supplied; check its plug against BS 1363 sockets before fitting. The model is Energy Star certified.

The operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C with 20 to 80 percent non-condensing humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45 °C, so this panel belongs in an air-conditioned room, away from direct sunlight through windows and from open entrances where dust gathers.

Where the AP7-B75 fits in Qatar

A medium-sized classroom at a private school in Al Wakrah, fitting out new teaching spaces, can use this panel with the included ActivInspire Professional software to annotate lesson material and capture what is written. A meeting room in West Bay or Msheireb where staff present in Arabic and English side by side can use the 1652 x 930 mm display area to show content to a mixed group. A training centre near Education City can use the four pens so several trainees annotate at once.
