Overview

The Promethean AP9-A75 is a 75-inch 4K UHD interactive flat panel from the ActivPanel 9 series, with 20 continuous touch points, 1 mm touch accuracy and the Android-based ActivPanel OS built in. Promethean has discontinued this model, so SmartRooms Qatar quotes it for existing owners, for buyers comparing options and for replacements. It suits classrooms, training rooms and mid-sized meeting rooms across Qatar. Request a quote for a current equivalent.

The AP9-A75 within the ActivPanel 9 range

The AP9-A75 is a 75-inch interactive flat panel with a 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. It sits between the 65-inch AP9-A65 and the 86-inch AP9-A86 in the series, giving schools and offices a mid-sized screen for a classroom or meeting room without the floor space an 86-inch display needs. Promethean has discontinued this model and announced the end of sale, so SmartRooms Qatar supplies it by quotation only and recommends a current equivalent for new projects.

Display and touch performance

The TFT LCD panel uses a direct LED backlight and bonded glass. Its display area measures 1652 x 930 mm, with a 400 cd/m² brightness rating, a 5000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 178° viewing angle, so students at the back of a room see the same content as those at the front. The 4 mm heat-tempered, anti-glare and anti-fingerprint glass carries a 9H pencil hardness rating and includes an ambient light sensor.

Touch runs on 20 continuous touch points with 1 mm accuracy and a tracking rate of 4 m/s. Palm rejection and palm erase allow a presenter to rest a hand on the glass while writing. Two battery-less pens with 3 mm tips come with the panel and are stored in an integrated full-length pen tray.

Computing, connectivity and expansion

ActivPanel OS, an Android-based system, runs on 4 GB RAM with 32 GB of internal storage and a Trusted Platform Module. Over-the-air updates and cloud-based user profiles are supported. A single OPS slot accepts a plug-in computer module, and the box includes a mini PC bracket with screws. Ports include:

Video in: two rear HDMI 2.0 inputs, one front HDMI 2.0 input and one DisplayPort 1.2 input
USB: a rear USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port with 60 W Power Delivery, plus USB-A and USB-B touch ports at the front and rear
Network: two 1 Gbps RJ45 ports for LAN in and LAN out, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax and Bluetooth 5.0
Control and audio: RS-232, HDMI out, 3.5 mm audio and microphone connections, and two front speakers rated at 21 W peak each

Where the 75-inch panel fits in Qatar

A private school in Al Wakrah refitting a secondary science classroom gets enough screen for pupils at the back row to read detailed diagrams. In a ministry meeting room in Msheireb, the HDMI and USB inputs let a presenter connect a laptop or conferencing device, so the Doha team and colleagues abroad share the same screen. A training centre in Education City or Lusail can use the panel for a mid-sized training room where interactive annotation matters.

Planning the installation

Power: rated 100 V to 240 V AC, typical consumption 131 W and standby 0.5 W or less. A 3 m regional power cable is included.
Environment: operating range 0 °C to 40 °C with 20% to 80% non-condensing humidity. In Qatar's summer, install the panel in an air-conditioned room away from direct sunlight, and have the SmartRooms Qatar team confirm the site first.
Weight and wall: net panel weight 55.3 kg, packed weight 67.5 kg. The VESA pattern is 800 x 400 mm, with four M6 screws included. Book a site survey before marking wall positions.
Installation: the manufacturer calls for a qualified installer, and SmartRooms Qatar arranges professional installation.

Ordering several units

Schools and government bodies buying more than one panel can issue a purchase order or LPO, or submit through a government tender including Monaqasat, and pay by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Send the room list, quantities and sizes, and we will return a quotation, usually within one working day. Request a quote today.

Questions about AP9-A75

Is the Promethean AP9-A75 still available?

Promethean has discontinued the AP9-A75 and announced the end of sale, so it is no longer a current model from the manufacturer. SmartRooms Qatar will still respond to requests for this model, but we also quote current equivalents and compatible replacements that match your room size and connectivity needs. Send us your room details and the quotation usually arrives within one working day.

How does the 75-inch model compare with the 65-inch and 86-inch versions?

The 75-inch model has a 1652 x 930 mm display area and a panel measuring 1730 x 1070 x 113 mm. The 65-inch model has a 1429 x 804 mm display area and the 86-inch model 1895 x 1066 mm. The 75-inch panel weighs 55.3 kg net, compared with 43.2 kg for the 65-inch and 69.6 kg for the 86-inch. It suits a classroom or meeting room that needs more screen than the 65-inch without the wall load of the largest size.

Is the AP9-A75 suitable for a classroom in a private school?

Yes, for a standard classroom or science room in a private or Arabic-curriculum school. The 1652 x 930 mm display area lets students read diagrams and text from the back row. Two battery-less pens with 3 mm tips let pupils write at the board without charging, and ActivInspire Professional is included. A school fitting out several rooms should plan each wall position in advance with a site survey.

How would the AP9-A75 work in a ministry meeting room in Msheireb?

A ministry meeting room in Msheireb often needs one screen for documents, presentations and video links with colleagues in other cities or abroad. The panel has two rear HDMI 2.0 inputs, one front HDMI 2.0 input, a DisplayPort 1.2 input and a USB-C port with 60 W Power Delivery, so a presenter can connect a laptop quickly. Touch annotation during the meeting is possible through the 20 touch points. Confirm the conferencing camera and codec with your IT team before ordering.

Can the panel operate in Qatar's summer heat?

The rated operating temperature is 0 °C to 40 °C, with 20% to 80% non-condensing humidity. Outdoor temperatures in Qatar's summer regularly exceed 45 °C, so the panel should be installed in an air-conditioned room, away from direct sunlight through windows. Storage is rated from -15 °C to 55 °C. Ask the SmartRooms Qatar team to review the room's cooling and sun exposure before the panel is fixed to the wall.

Does the AP9-A75 need a separate computer?

No. The panel runs ActivPanel OS, an Android-based system with 4 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage and a Trusted Platform Module. If your workflow needs a PC, the single OPS slot accepts a compatible OPS computer module, and the box includes a mini PC bracket with screws. Confirm the module and mounting details with the SmartRooms Qatar team before ordering.

Which devices and networks connect to the AP9-A75?

The panel offers two rear HDMI 2.0 inputs, one front HDMI 2.0 input, a DisplayPort 1.2 input, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port with 60 W Power Delivery, and two 1 Gbps RJ45 ports for LAN in and LAN out. Wi-Fi supports 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, dual band, and Bluetooth 5.0 is included. The listed compatibility covers Windows 7 to 11, macOS, Ubuntu Linux and Chrome OS. Wake-on-LAN is also supported.

Are pens and software included with the panel?

Yes. The box includes two battery-less pens with 3 mm tips, a remote control with two batteries, and an integrated full-length pen tray on the frame. ActivInspire Professional is listed as included in the education software licence. Palm rejection, palm erase and pen-and-touch differentiation help reduce accidental marks during lessons. Confirm the licence details in your quotation.

How should the AP9-A75 be mounted, and what planning is needed?

The VESA pattern is 800 x 400 mm, four M6 screws are included, and the wall mount dimensions are 1010 x 720 x 52 mm. The panel weighs 55.3 kg net and 67.5 kg packed, so wall structure and safe lifting must be planned in advance. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys before installation and can arrange professional installation by a qualified installer.

What power does the AP9-A75 need in Qatar?

The panel is rated for 100 V to 240 V AC, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains, and a 3 m regional power cable is in the box. Typical power consumption is 131 W, and standby consumption is 0.5 W or less. The 75-inch model is listed as Energy Star certified. Plan a dedicated socket near the mounting position for the panel and any plug-in computer module.

Can we order several units through an LPO or government tender?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders, including Monaqasat, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. A school or ministry buying several units can send a room list with quantities and sizes, and we will prepare a quotation, usually within one working day. Lead times are estimates and are confirmed in the quotation, based on stock.

What warranty applies to the AP9-A75?

Products supplied by SmartRooms Qatar are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Promethean states that warranty term and upgrade options vary by region, so the exact cover for your order should be confirmed in the quotation before you buy. If you already own an AP9-A75 and need support, share the serial details with us and we will advise on the next steps.
