49SOA25PT

What this model is and why it has been discontinued

The Hisense 49SOA25PT is a 49-inch display housed in a weatherproof cabinet, built to stand in a portrait orientation as an outdoor kiosk or totem. Hisense has discontinued this model and lists it among its end-of-life products, so it is no longer offered as a new unit by the manufacturer. Organisations that already own one, and buyers comparing it with newer models, can ask SmartRooms Qatar for a quote on a current equivalent or a compatible replacement.

Screen performance that matters outdoors

The panel runs at Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) in a 16:9 ratio, with an active area of 1074 x 604 mm. Its 2500-nit brightness and 1200:1 contrast ratio keep content legible when light levels are high, and a light sensor adjusts brightness automatically as conditions change. Viewing angles reach 178 degrees horizontally and vertically, the backlight is rated for 50,000 hours, and the 8ms response time suits motion content. An optional P-CAP touchscreen with 10 touch points and a response time of 10ms or less can be specified.

Enclosure, cooling and security

• IP65 rating for dust-tight sealing and protection against water jets.
• Built-in air conditioner with overheating protection, rated for ambient operation from -40°C to 55°C.
• 6.8 mm tempered and laminated glass with an anti-reflective, anti-vandal finish.
• Galvanised steel with a powder-coated black finish and a net weight of 180 kg.

The manufacturer states that no filter maintenance is required. The front door has a lock, and the cabinet uses a three-point anti-theft mechanism with internal bolts and no exposed hinges or screws, which makes tampering considerably harder.

Where it fits in Qatar

• A shopping mall entrance or forecourt in Lusail or West Bay, where a portrait screen guides visitors just outside the doors. The air-conditioned cabinet keeps the electronics working through summer afternoons that pass 45°C.
• A logistics or industrial site in Mesaieed or the Industrial Area, showing gate, safety and visitor information in an open yard exposed to dust. The IP65 enclosure is designed for this kind of exposure.
• A transport hub or car park near Hamad International Airport, where service and wayfinding information can run continuously, as the specification lists 24/7 operation.

What to plan before ordering

The cabinet measures 2000 mm high, 780 mm wide and 255 mm deep, and weighs 180 kg net. It ships in a 2180 x 880 x 500 mm package, so the base or foundation must carry that load and the access route must accommodate the crate. The specification lists power as AC 110/220V at 50/60Hz with a maximum consumption of 650W, and it does not state 240 V, the standard in Qatar. Confirm electrical compatibility with SmartRooms Qatar and a licensed electrician before ordering. Connectivity includes two HDMI inputs, USB 2.0, LAN, a TF card slot and RS232, plus HDMI and AV outputs. The system language options are Chinese and English, so ask about Arabic content before ordering. Free site surveys from SmartRooms Qatar check the base, cable route and clearances, and organisations buying several units can issue a purchase order (LPO).
