49SOF25PT

A 49-inch outdoor display, now discontinued

The Hisense 49SOF25PT is a 49-inch Full HD display from the SOF25PT fan-cooled series, built for full outdoor exposure. Hisense has discontinued this model. This page is written for organisations that already run one, buyers comparing it with newer outdoor displays, and anyone who needs a replacement. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement.

Brightness and enclosure figures that matter outdoors

The panel is rated at 2500 nits, the figure to check when content has to stay readable in daylight. A 1200:1 contrast ratio and 178°/178° viewing angles keep the picture usable for people approaching from the side. An automatic light sensor adjusts brightness to surrounding light, so output can be lower in shaded areas.

The cabinet carries an IP55 rating and uses 6.8 mm tempered, laminated, anti-reflective glass over powder-coated galvanised steel. The front door locks and the fixings are concealed, which suits unattended outdoor sites where access should be restricted.

• 49-inch 16:9 panel, 1920 x 1080 resolution, portrait orientation
• 2500 nits brightness with automatic light-sensor control
• Operating range -20°C to 45°C, humidity 5% to 90%
• Built-in airflow fan with overheating protection
• Power input AC 100/220V, 50/60Hz, 320W maximum

Software, inputs and networking

The unit runs Android 7.1 on a quad-core Amlogic processor with 2GB DDR4 memory and 16GB eMMC storage, expandable with a TF card up to 128GB. Inputs are two HDMI, one USB 2.0, one LAN, one TF card slot and one RS232 port. Outputs are one HDMI and one AV. Wi-Fi or wired LAN is listed, with optional 3G/4G, and a built-in speaker is fitted. A touch version is available as an option with 10-point projected capacitive touch. Interface languages are listed as Chinese and English, so confirm Arabic menu support before ordering.

Where it fits in Qatar

A mall or retail street in West Bay or Al Sadd can place the 49SOF25PT at a covered external entrance to show wayfinding, store offers or event listings. The 2500 nit panel suits daytime viewing, but the screen should sit under a canopy or out of direct afternoon sun.

A logistics or industrial site in Mesaieed or the Industrial Area can use the unit at a gate or yard for visitor instructions, safety notices or vehicle routing. The IP55 cabinet and fan cooling suit dusty yards, provided shade and airflow are checked on site.

A real estate developer in Lusail can run a kiosk-style display at a sales gallery entrance to show project phases and floor plans to passers-by around the clock, where the 24/7 operation rating matters.

Planning for weight, power and heat

At 2000 mm high, 824 mm wide and 150 mm deep, with a net weight of 122 kg, this is a heavy unit that needs a level, load-bearing base and a lifting plan. The packed size is 2180 x 960 x 500 mm, so confirm delivery access before the unit arrives. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys, the right step before fixing a unit of this size outdoors.

The listed power input is AC 100/220V, 50/60Hz, with a 320W maximum draw. Qatar's mains supply is 240V at 50Hz, and the source data does not state 240V, so confirm the supply arrangement and plug type first. Ambient operation is rated from -20°C to 45°C, while Qatar summers can exceed 45°C, so plan shade, airflow clearance and placement away from direct sun.
