INA-PTZ-3

What the INA-PTZ-3 is

The InFocus INA-PTZ-3 is a pan-tilt-zoom conference camera from the InFocus video conferencing range. Its view can be steered and zoomed during a call, so the far end can follow whoever is speaking in the room. The model is listed on the InFocus Global Support page together with its user guide.

Before you plan around it, note that InFocus has discontinued the INA-PTZ-3. It is no longer in the current manufacturer line-up, so buying this exact unit new is rarely the right route. It remains relevant for organisations that already own one and need to keep a meeting room working, and for buyers comparing it with newer cameras.

Discontinued status and what it means for your room

If your room already has an INA-PTZ-3, start by confirming that the unit, its user guide and its control setup still match how your meetings run. Because the model is discontinued, a like-for-like replacement may not be available from the manufacturer, so a compatible alternative is often the practical choice. SmartRooms Qatar can review your current setup and recommend a current equivalent or compatible replacement within a quotation.

Organisations standardising one camera across several rooms should avoid mixing an older discontinued model with new units without checking how each one is controlled and configured. A mixed fleet is harder to support and harder to train staff on.

Where a PTZ conference camera fits in Qatar

A PTZ camera suits rooms where speakers move around and the far end needs to see faces clearly. Three typical situations in Qatar show where this matters:

• A university seminar room in Education City, where a lecturer moves between the whiteboard and the lectern while students join from campuses abroad.
• A government ministry boardroom in Msheireb, where senior officials hold video calls with teams in other cities and need a clear view of each speaker.
• A hotel meeting room in Lusail, hosting training sessions and board meetings for visiting delegations.

In each case the camera does the same job: it frames the speaker so the remote side can follow the discussion without someone adjusting the picture during the call.

What to plan for before you request a quote

Camera results depend on the room as much as the device. Plan these points before the quotation:

• Note the model label on the existing unit and whether you have its user guide, so a replacement can be matched to your control setup.
• Measure the mounting position and the distance to the furthest seat, because a camera placed too far away or too close will frame the room poorly.
• Confirm power and operating environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team, since the manufacturer data we hold for this model does not list them.
• Ask for a free site survey if the room has glass walls, strong backlight or an AV rack that must connect to the new camera.

Request a quote for this model or its replacement

Discontinued equipment needs a practical decision rather than a guess. Send SmartRooms Qatar the room type, the existing camera details if you have them, and the video platform you use. We will reply with a quotation for a current equivalent or compatible replacement, usually within one working day. We deliver to all 8 municipalities of Qatar, and purchase orders (LPOs) and government tenders are welcome. Request a quote today and let our team recommend the right camera for your room.
