What the CPE80 adds to a CP860 conference phone

The CPE80 is an expansion microphone built to work with the Yealink CP860 conference phone. The CP860 is the main unit on the table, and the CPE80 extends its voice pickup by an additional 10 feet, so people seated at the far ends of a long table can be heard clearly. Yealink lists this model as an accessory for the CP860 only, so it should be specified alongside that phone rather than treated as a standalone microphone.

Audio and control features that matter in a meeting

The unit supports HD voice and full duplex operation, which means both ends of a call can speak at the same time. Each microphone picks up sound across a 120° arc out to 10 feet (3 metres), and echo cancellation helps keep the call clear in reflective rooms. A capacitive touchpad mutes the microphones, and a bicolour LED shows the mute state, so the person speaking can see at a glance whether the room is live.

The CPE80 links to the CP860 through one RJ9 (4P4C) port using its 1.8-metre connection cable. Key figures from the datasheet are:
