What the MVC900 bundle includes

The MVC900 is a complete Microsoft Teams Rooms kit for large spaces where one fixed camera cannot frame every participant. It centres on two UVC80 pan-tilt-zoom cameras, a camera hub that manages their video streams, an MTouch touch console, an MShare content unit and a mini-PC that runs the Teams Rooms software. The mini-PC can sit on the table, on a wall or on a TV cart, which keeps the meeting table clear.

The main components are:

• Cameras: two UVC80 units with 12x optical zoom and 1920 x 1080 video at 60 frames per second
• Touch console: an 8-inch IPS screen at 1280 x 800 with 10-point capacitive touch
• Mini-PC: 7th-gen Intel Core i5, 8GB memory and a 128GB SSD running Windows 10 IoT Enterprise
• Content sharing: HDMI and Mini-DP inputs on MShare, plus a built-in Wi-Fi access point for wireless presentation

Camera and audio coverage for large rooms

Each UVC80 has a 78.5 degree diagonal field of view, a 200 degree pan range and a 60 degree tilt range, so people seated far from the lens stay sharp without losing detail. The camera hub lets the Teams interface switch between the two cameras from the console, which helps when a presenter moves across a long training room. The VCM34 array microphones are optional. Each one picks up voices from 20 feet (6 metres) and has a built-in three-microphone array, and up to four units can be cascaded.

Where it fits in Qatar

The bundle suits rooms where a single camera and microphone would leave people out of the call. Three realistic situations:

• A ministry in West Bay fitting out a main training room, where staff in Doha and regional offices join one Teams session.
• A university in Education City refreshing a lecture hall for hybrid seminars with partners abroad.
• A hotel or conference venue in The Pearl running large internal meetings that need a dependable room system between events.

Heat, network and installation planning

The mini-PC is rated for operating temperatures of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius and 10 to 95 percent humidity, so the room must be air-conditioned, not a hot store or a glazed lobby exposed to the sun. Qatar summers regularly push outdoor temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius, so keep cooling running whenever the room is in use. The switch and Ethernet cables are not included and must be bought separately. Do not connect the switch to the internet, as the manufacturer warns this causes network faults. First start-up needs a USB hub so a mouse can complete setup, and a wireless keyboard and mouse kit is recommended.

Discontinued status and your next step

Yealink has discontinued the MVC900 and stopped accepting new orders after 31 July 2023. Under the manufacturer's end-of-life policy, the first year after end-of-sale covers technical support and security fixes, years two to five cover software bug fixes where possible, and no new features are developed.
