VC800
Yealink VC800 Full-HD Video Conferencing System
The Yealink VC800 is a discontinued full-HD video conferencing system for mid-to-large meeting rooms. It combines a 1080p60 camera with 12x optical zoom and a built-in engine for 24-site multipoint calls, using H.265/HEVC video. Yealink ended sales on 30 June 2023, so new orders are closed. Organisations in Qatar that already run a VC800, or need a current equivalent, can request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar.
What the Yealink VC800 is and where it stands
The Yealink VC800 is an all-in-one room codec with an integrated Full-HD PTZ camera, designed for mid-to-large meeting rooms where several sites join one call. Yealink discontinued it with an end-of-sale date of 30 June 2023, so new orders are no longer accepted. Many organisations still run it, and buyers comparing systems need to know exactly what it can and cannot do. This page sets out the figures from the manufacturer's data, the Qatar settings where it fits, and the steps to take if you need a replacement.
Camera, audio and multipoint figures that matter
The camera outputs 1920 x 1080 at 60 frames per second with 12x optical zoom, a 70-degree horizontal field of view and a pan range of plus or minus 100 degrees. Video runs on H.265/HEVC, which the datasheet says can deliver 1080p calls from 512 kbps. The built-in multipoint engine connects up to 24 sites at 1080p30 and can be split into two virtual meeting rooms. Audio pickup covers a 360-degree area of about 20 ft (around 6 m), and up to four VCM34 microphone arrays can be cascaded for larger tables.
Qatar scenarios that suit a mid-to-large room
A government authority in Msheireb holding a monthly review with teams in Doha and overseas offices needs one room system that handles several sites. A boardroom with a long table benefits from the 360-degree array, which picks up speakers without handheld microphones. A training centre in Education City running a seminar for a remote group can add VCC22 cameras so viewers see both the presenter and the slides. A school in Al Wakrah fitting out a hall for parent meetings can use the two virtual meeting rooms to run separate sessions from one unit.
Heat, power and mounting checks before installation
The codec is rated for an operating temperature of 0 to 40 °C and humidity of 10 to 95 per cent. Summer temperatures in Qatar often pass 45 °C, so place it in an air-conditioned meeting room away from windows and direct sun. Confirm the environment with the SmartRooms Qatar team before fitting it into any lobby, reception or unconditioned space. Power draw is 17 W in normal use and 21 W at maximum, supplied by an external adapter that accepts 100 to 240 V AC. Use only the Yealink original adapter, as the manufacturer warns that a third-party adapter may damage the system.
Plan the physical layout early. The codec measures 235 x 172 x 169 mm, the CTP20 touch panel 321.5 x 118 x 196 mm, and the VCM34 array 169 x 171.5 x 37.5 mm. A wall or TV-mounted shelf with screws is included. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar can confirm cable runs to the table, display height and where the microphone array can hear everyone.
Discontinued status and choosing a current replacement
Yealink's end-of-life policy provides full software support for the first year after end of sale, covering bug fixes and security fixes. From the second to the fifth year it will attempt software bug fixes, and it will not add new features after end of life. Hardware spares depend on local distributors and are subject to stock. A VC800 can keep working under these rules, but its feature set will not grow.
If you are replacing it, state your requirements in the specification: camera resolution and zoom, multipoint capacity, supported call platforms, microphone coverage and content inputs. SmartRooms Qatar will quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement against those requirements. Send us your room size and the platforms you use, and request a quote. Quotations are usually issued within one working day.
