Dahua N70(04H20H) 3U Video Matrix Platform Video Wall Decoder
The Dahua N70(04H20H) is a 3U rack-mounted video matrix platform that routes and decodes IP camera streams onto large video walls. It offers 20 HDMI outputs, up to 240 channels of 1080p decoding, and eight card slots for modular expansion. A redundant dual power supply option suits control rooms and equipment rooms across Doha and the industrial areas that cannot afford downtime. Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar.
What the N70 does on a video wall
The Dahua N70(04H20H) is a 3U video matrix platform built for large surveillance deployments. It takes in camera streams, decodes them and routes the pictures to a display wall, where operators arrange them into windows, scenes and splits. The platform sits between the camera network and the screens, so the wall is driven from one controlled point rather than from individual monitors.
The chassis fits a standard 19-inch rack and holds eight slots for audio and video cards, so integrators can configure it for the inputs and outputs a project needs. It runs an embedded Linux operating system.
Inputs, outputs and decoding capacity
The platform accepts two channels at 4K@60 Hz or two channels at 1080p@60 Hz. Its outputs are the more significant part of the specification: 20 HDMI ports, ten HDMI 2.0 and ten HDMI 1.3, that can carry up to ten channels of 4K and ten of 1080p at the same time. A single picture can be spliced across as many as 20 screens, which makes it practical for a multi-panel control room.
Decoding covers 32 MP, 16 MP, 12 MP, 8 MP, 5 MP, 3 MP, 1080p, 720p and D1 streams, using the H.265, H.264, SVAC, MPEG4 and MJPEG codecs. The rated capacity is up to 240 channels of 1080p at 25 fps. The 500-channel figure quoted for a full system applies only under set conditions, such as 1080p output and no window crossing screens.
Control, layouts and integration
Operators can manage the wall from a web page, a desktop client, a mobile client, a network keyboard or the local interface. The platform supports 1, 4, 6, 8, 9, 16, 25 and 36 splits along with custom M×N layouts, and up to 128 scene presets, each with its own arrangement on the wall. Background colour, subtitles and screen power can all be set from the control software.
For integration, the unit works with ONVIF, RTSP, Dahua Private and Hikvision Private protocols, accepts up to 1,024 network channels and includes a platform SDK for secondary development. Its ports include two RJ-45 Ethernet ports rated 10/100/1,000 Mbps, two RS-232 ports, one RS-485 port, two alarm inputs, one alarm output and two USB 3.0 ports.
Where it fits in Qatar
- Security operations rooms in Doha: a ministry, municipal or corporate monitoring room in West Bay or Msheireb, where several shifts share one wall and call up saved scenes for each shift.
- Industrial and energy sites: a central monitoring room in Mesaieed, Ras Laffan or the Industrial Area, with the platform racked in an air-conditioned equipment room feeding a multi-panel display.
- Large hotels and malls: a back-of-house control room in Lusail, The Pearl or Al Sadd, where staff watch entrances, car parks and public areas on a wall driven by a single rack unit.
Planning the installation
Plan for power, space and cooling before ordering. The unit draws up to 140 W and accepts 100–240 VAC at 50–60 Hz, a range that covers Qatar's 240 V supply. It ships with a single power supply, and a dual supply is an option that suits racks which must stay live. The chassis measures 484.0 × 477.7 × 132.0 mm and weighs 14.69 kg net (17.5 kg gross).
The operating range is -10 °C to +50 °C at 10% to 90% relative humidity, non-condensing. Summer temperatures in Qatar regularly exceed 45 °C, so the equipment room must be air-conditioned and its cooling checked against the rack's heat load. SmartRooms Qatar offers free site surveys to confirm rack position, cable routes and cooling before installation.
