Overview

The LG 65US5P-E is a 65-inch 4K UHD signage display with a 500 nit typical panel, a 24/7 operating rating and webOS 6.0 for scheduled content. It offers three HDMI inputs, a DisplayPort input and an HDMI output for daisy-chaining. LG has discontinued this model, so SmartRooms Qatar quotes a current equivalent or compatible replacement for hotels, schools and offices across Qatar.

What the LG 65US5P-E is

The LG 65US5P-E is a 65-inch UHD signage display from the US5P series, built for screens that face the public and run for long hours. It uses a 3840 x 2160 native panel based on IPS(M+) technology with an edge-lit backlight. LG has discontinued this model, so this page serves organisations that already own one, buyers comparing it with newer displays, and anyone searching for a replacement. SmartRooms Qatar quotes a current equivalent or a compatible replacement in each case.

Picture and runtime figures that matter

Typical brightness is 500 nit, with a 1,100:1 contrast ratio and a dynamic contrast figure of 1,000,000:1. The panel covers 95% of BT709 colour and handles 10-bit colour, giving 1.07 billion colours. Response time is 9ms grey to grey at a 60Hz refresh rate. The panel life is rated at a minimum of 50,000 hours, and the display is rated for 24/7 operation. Surface haze is listed at 28%, which matters where window light causes reflections. The screen can be used in portrait or landscape orientation.

Inputs, control and content management

Inputs: three HDMI inputs supporting 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz with HDCP 2.2 and 1.4, plus one DisplayPort input at the same resolution.
Daisy chain: an HDMI output at 3840 x 2160 and 30Hz passes a signal on to a second screen.
Control: RS232C in and out, an RJ45 LAN port, an IR input and a USB 2.0 Type A port.
Wireless and storage: built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with 16GB of internal eMMC storage.

The unit runs webOS 6.0 and supports local content scheduling, group management, tiled video wall settings up to 15 x 15, picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes, and connectivity with Crestron, SNMP and Wake on LAN. Listed software compatibility covers SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign WB, SuperSign Cloud, Mobile CMS and Connected Care.

Where it fits in Qatar

A 65-inch panel suits a hotel lobby in West Bay or a corridor in a university building in Education City, where announcements and wayfinding must be readable from a short distance. In a shopping mall in Lusail, several units can be placed side by side for promotional loops, using the tiled mode and daisy-chain output to keep the layout consistent. Clinics and government offices in Msheireb can use the screen to show queue numbers and instructions that change on a fixed schedule.

The listed operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C with 10% to 80% humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar often exceed 45 °C, so the display should sit in an air-conditioned room with adequate cooling. Glazed frontages exposed to direct sun need a site assessment first. The IP5X rating covers dust protection only.

What to plan before ordering

Mounting: VESA 300 x 300 interface, with optional mounts WB21LMA/B, OLW480A/B and the adapter AM-B330S.
Weight: the head weighs 24.2 kg and the packed unit 30.4 kg, so plan for two installers and a structural check of the wall.
Power: built-in power supply for 100-240V AC at 50/60Hz, with typical consumption of 95W and a maximum of 130W.
Accessories: remote controller with two batteries, power cord, quick start guide, two cable holders and an AC cord holder.

Questions about 65US5P-E

Is the LG 65US5P-E still made by LG?

LG has discontinued this model, so new orders are quoted as a current equivalent or a compatible replacement rather than this exact unit. Tell the SmartRooms Qatar team how many screens you need, where they will be mounted and which content system you use, and the quotation will name the closest match. This route suits schools, ministries and hotels that need matching screens across several sites.

Who is this 65-inch display best suited to?

It suits busy indoor locations where signage must be readable from a few metres away, such as hotel lobbies in West Bay, university corridors in Education City and shopping mall walkways. The 3840 x 2160 resolution and 500 nit typical brightness support promotional and wayfinding content in air-conditioned buildings. Its size fits reception walls and corridors where a larger format would be too heavy or too wide.

Can the screen run around the clock?

Yes. The listed operation schedule is 24/7 and the panel life is rated at a minimum of 50,000 hours. For a clinic waiting area in Msheireb or a ministry lobby, this allows continuous rotation of announcements without switching off overnight. Use local content scheduling to change messages by time of day, and confirm room ventilation so the display stays within its operating temperature range.

Will 500 nit be enough for a screen near windows?

Typical brightness is 500 nit and surface haze is 28%, which reduces reflections but does not replace good placement. The source data does not list a direct sunlight rating, so avoid positioning the screen opposite unshaded glazing. For reception walls with strong daylight, request a site survey before ordering so the team can check the wall and light conditions.

How does it cope with summer heat in Doha?

The listed operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C with 10% to 80% humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar often exceed 45 °C, so the display must sit in an air-conditioned room with enough cooling capacity. Any location that is not air-conditioned should be confirmed with the SmartRooms Qatar team before the quotation is finalised.

Which inputs can I use to connect a media player or laptop?

Three HDMI inputs support 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz with HDCP 2.2 and 1.4, and one DisplayPort input handles the same resolution with HDCP 2.2 and 1.3. A USB 2.0 Type A port, an RJ45 LAN port and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth add further options. In a hotel setup, a media player can feed an HDMI input while the network port handles remote updates.

Can several units form a video wall?

Yes, tile mode supports up to 15 x 15. The bezels measure 8.9 mm on the top and sides and 12.9 mm at the bottom, so the bottom seam will be more visible than the others. The HDMI output runs at 3840 x 2160 and 30Hz, so check the signal chain before planning a daisy chain. Ask for a quotation that includes the mounting plan and cable routing for your wall.

How are several screens managed from one location?

The unit runs webOS 6.0 and supports local content scheduling, group management, automatic ID setting, SNMP, Wake on LAN and status mailing. RS232C control is available for external systems, and Crestron connectivity is listed. Software compatibility covers SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Control+, SuperSign WB, SuperSign Cloud, Mobile CMS and Connected Care. Confirm which platform fits your building before choosing the set-up.

What do I need for wall mounting?

The mount interface is VESA 300 x 300. The head weighs 24.2 kg and the packed unit weighs 30.4 kg, so plan for two people and a structural check of the wall. Optional mounts listed are WB21LMA/B, OLW480A/B and the adapter AM-B330S. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey before wall-mounting, and the right mount is confirmed after the survey.

Does it work with Qatar's power supply?

The built-in power supply accepts 100-240V AC at 50/60Hz, a range that covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains. Typical consumption is 95W and maximum consumption is 130W. The source data does not list the plug type, so confirm the plug fit for BS 1363 Type G sockets with the SmartRooms Qatar team before the quotation is issued.

Is it a touch display?

No. The listed specification does not include a touch USB connection, and no overlay touch compatibility is listed. Content is controlled through the remote, the local keys, RS232C, IR or network control. If your project needs touch interaction, request a quotation for a touch model rather than adding an overlay to this unit.

What comes in the box and which certifications apply?

The package includes a remote controller with two batteries, a power cord, a quick start guide, a regulation book, a phone-to-RS232C gender adapter, two cable holders and an AC cord holder. Listed certifications include CB/NRTL for safety, FCC Class B, CE and KC for EMC, and NewErP D for energy. These details support LPO and government tender paperwork handled by SmartRooms Qatar.
