What the LG 98TR3PJ is built to do

The LG 98TR3PJ is a 98-inch interactive digital board from the CreateBoard TR3PJ series. It combines a large 4K display with its own Android computer, so lessons and meetings can run without a separate PC. The manufacturer has discontinued this model. Organisations that already run one, or that are comparing it with newer boards, can request a quote for a current equivalent or a compatible replacement from SmartRooms Qatar.

Touch, sharing and annotation on a 98-inch IPS panel

The 3840 x 2160 IPS panel provides 1.07 billion colours, a 1,200:1 contrast ratio and 390 nit typical brightness without the protective glass. That glass is 4 mm thick with anti-glare treatment. Touch input recognises up to 20 points at once with ±1 mm typical accuracy, so several students can write on the board together. Key features include:

• Screen sharing: up to six shared screens or files shown in real time through ScreenShare Pro over the same network.
• Undo and redo: the annotation tool supports both steps on any source.
• Partial capture: crop a selected area and save it internally, or send it straight to email or note apps.
• Air Class: up to 30 students join from mobile browsers for voting and answering.
• Secure mode and USB block: restrict screen mirroring and block copying to unauthorised USB devices.

Connectivity, power and the built-in OPS slot

The board has three HDMI inputs, an HDMI output, an RGB input, audio input and output, a LAN port with input and output, a USB Type-C port, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, and an RS232C control input. Wireless is built in: Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.0 for keyboards, mice and speakers. The internal OPS slot takes an OPS desktop module at the back of the board, powered internally by the display. The panel draws a typical 460 W and a maximum of 630 W on 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz supply. With DPM active, the display switches on only when an input signal is present, and standby draws 0.5 W.

Where it fits in Qatar

A 98-inch board suits rooms where the audience sits far from a smaller screen. In a lecture hall in Education City, a lecturer can annotate slides, use undo and redo, capture a cropped diagram and run a vote with up to 30 students on their own devices. In a boardroom in West Bay or Lusail, directors can open the web browser on the board and share several sources without connecting a laptop. A training centre in Al Sadd or Msheireb can rely on Secure mode and USB block when session materials must stay in the room.

What to plan before ordering

The monitor measures 2244.7 x 1323.2 x 89.5 mm, with a head weight of 103.6 kg and a packed weight of 126.5 kg. The wall or mobile stand must carry that load, and the VESA interface is 800 x 600 mm. Check doorways, lift routes and wall structure before delivery. SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey and professional installation, which we recommend for a unit this size. The operating range is 0 °C to 40 °C at 10% to 80% humidity, so install it in an air-conditioned room, not in a space exposed to summer heat above 45 °C or to dust from open windows, and confirm the environment with our team before ordering.

Schools and government bodies can order by purchase order (LPO). Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar, and we will recommend a current equivalent or compatible replacement that suits your room size and mounting.
