Newline Chromebox A10

What the Newline Chromebox A10 adds to a Newline display

The Newline Chromebox A10 is a compact Chrome OS computer that connects to a Newline interactive display, so the touch screen can run Google software without a separate laptop at the front of the room. Its body measures 213 x 147 x 32 mm and weighs 1.7 kg, which keeps the footprint small.

Chrome OS includes the Google Chrome browser, Google Classroom, Slides and Docs, which are already installed. Google Play gives access to a large library of apps that can be downloaded and used directly on the display. Signing in with a Google Drive account gives access to saved files and lets users save notes back to Drive from the touch screen.

Specifications that matter for planning

• Operating system: Chrome OS
• Resolution: 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K)
• Processor and graphics: Intel Kaby Lake CPU with integrated Intel HD graphics
• Memory and storage: 4GB dual-channel DDR4L memory and 32GB SSD
• Wireless: WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2
• Power: 19V DC adapter
• Size and weight: 213 x 147 x 32 mm, 1.7 kg

Memory and storage are modest by laptop standards, so the 32GB SSD suits cloud-based lessons, browser work and Google apps rather than large local media libraries. The result depends on a reliable internet connection and an active Google account for each user.

Where it fits in Qatar

Three situations show where the Chromebox A10 is most useful:

• A private school in Al Wakrah refitting several classrooms, where teachers open Google Classroom and Slides from the touch screen instead of carrying a laptop between rooms.
• A training centre in Education City running cloud-based courses, where students and instructors save work to Google Drive from the shared display.
• A meeting room in West Bay where presenters sign in to their own Google Drive accounts to open shared files during a meeting.

Discontinued model: confirm before you buy

The manufacturer has discontinued the Chromebox A10. It remains relevant for organisations that already own one and need to check compatibility, and for buyers comparing it with newer options. If you are starting a new project, do not assume this model is the right choice. Ask SmartRooms Qatar for a current equivalent or a compatible replacement that matches your display and software needs.

Planning the installation in Qatar

The source data does not give an operating temperature range, a mounting option or a list of ports for this unit, so these should be confirmed before ordering. A free site survey from SmartRooms Qatar lets the team check the adapter socket position, the cable route to the display and the room conditions. This matters in rooms that are not air-conditioned, because summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C.

Schools, government bodies and companies ordering several units can work with SmartRooms Qatar through purchase orders (LPOs) or government tenders. Delivery covers all eight municipalities of Qatar, and payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order.

Request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar for a current equivalent or compatible replacement, and the team will confirm the fit with your display and the software you plan to use.
