Overview

The Yealink ZVC640 is a Zoom Rooms kit for medium and large meeting rooms, and Yealink has discontinued it. The bundle pairs an MCore Mini-PC with a UVC84 4K camera offering 12x optical zoom and Auto Framing, plus a CP960 conference phone with a three-microphone array. Doha organisations that already run it can still ask about support. Buyers needing a current equivalent should request a quote.

The Yealink ZVC640 is a Zoom Rooms kit built for medium and large meeting rooms. Yealink has discontinued this model, so this page serves organisations that already run one, buyers comparing it with newer systems, and anyone searching for a replacement. The kit arrives as one package: an MCore Mini-PC running Zoom Rooms, a UVC84 camera and a CP960 conference phone, designed to operate together.

Three devices working as one meeting system

The MCore Mini-PC is the processing core. It carries an 8th-generation Intel quad-core i5 processor, 8GB of memory and a 128GB SSD. Its connections include two HDMI outputs with CEC support for the display, four USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a 10/100/1000M Ethernet port, and it also offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The UVC84 is a 4K PTZ camera with 12x optical zoom and an 80-degree diagonal field of view. Its pan range is 200 degrees and its tilt range is 130 degrees. Auto Framing locates attendees and frames them automatically, and camera presets let staff save preferred views for quick recall.

The CP960 combines a three-microphone array, a speaker and a 5-inch touch screen with a 720x1280 resolution, which doubles as the meeting console. It covers a 360-degree pickup range up to six metres. Adding two optional CPW90 wireless microphones extends pickup to 12 metres, and those microphones use DECT technology with a range of up to 50 metres.

Heat and dust planning for Qatar rooms

The kit is rated for an operating temperature of 0 to 40°C and a humidity range of 10 to 95 percent, so it should stay in air-conditioned rooms. Outdoor temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C in summer. Keep the camera out of direct sunlight through glass, and avoid spots near entrances that let in dust during sandstorms. Storage is rated from -30 to 70°C.

Where the ZVC640 fits in Qatar

Ministry boardroom in West Bay: a senior room where participants from several departments join the same call and the camera must frame each speaker without constant manual adjustment.
Lecture or seminar room in Education City: a university space where lecturers present to students and connect with colleagues abroad, using the CP960 as both console and microphone.
Conference room in Lusail or The Pearl: a hotel or serviced apartment meeting space that hosts client presentations and needs wide audio coverage around the table.

What to plan before you order

Start with a free site survey. Measure the distance from the camera position to the furthest seat, check the display's HDMI input, and decide where the CP960 will sit so its one-cable link to the MCore stays short. Confirm a PoE switch or adapter port near the table, and check that the room has a suitable Ethernet route and power socket. Confirm your Zoom Rooms account arrangements with the SmartRooms Qatar team before quotation.

Discontinued model: support and replacement

Yealink ended sales of the ZVC640 Zoom Rooms Kit with an end-of-sale date of 30 June 2022, and new orders are no longer accepted. Under the manufacturer's end-of-life policy, the first year after that date includes technical support plus bug and security fixes, later years cover attempted software bug fixes, and no new features are added. Hardware spares depend on local distributors and stock. If you need current capability, request a quote for a current Zoom Rooms equivalent or a compatible replacement, and send details of your existing equipment so the team can advise before quoting.

To request a quote for a current equivalent or a compatible replacement, contact SmartRooms Qatar with your room size, existing devices and target date. Quotations usually follow within one working day, and orders can be placed by purchase order or LPO.

Questions about ZVC640

Is the Yealink ZVC640 still sold by Yealink?

No. Yealink discontinued the ZVC640 Zoom Rooms Kit, with an end-of-sale date of 30 June 2022, and no longer accepts new orders for it. SmartRooms Qatar can instead quote a current Zoom Rooms equivalent or a compatible replacement for a medium or large meeting room. Send your room size and existing devices so the team can recommend a suitable option.

What comes in the ZVC640 kit?

The kit bundles an MCore Mini-PC with pre-installed Zoom Rooms software, a UVC84 PTZ camera and a CP960 conference phone. Yealink describes the software and licence as part of the package, and the kit is certified by Zoom. Two optional CPW90 wireless expansion microphones can be added to extend pickup. The three parts are designed to work together as one meeting system.

Which room size suits the ZVC640?

The manufacturer positions the kit for medium and large rooms, such as a boardroom or training room. The CP960 covers a 360-degree pickup range up to six metres, and the optional CPW90 microphones extend that to 12 metres. Before ordering, measure the distance from the camera to the furthest seat and confirm the table layout during a free site survey.

How capable is the UVC84 camera for large meetings?

The UVC84 is a 4K PTZ camera with 12x optical zoom, an 80-degree diagonal field of view, a 200-degree pan range and a 130-degree tilt range. Auto Framing recognises attendees and frames them automatically, which helps when people sit at different distances across a large table. Camera presets let staff return to saved views quickly.

Can the kit run in a Doha office with direct sun or dust?

Its operating temperature is rated from 0 to 40°C at 10 to 95 percent humidity, so it belongs in an air-conditioned room. Outdoor summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, and dust storms occur. Keep the camera out of direct sun through windows, avoid placing it near entrances, and confirm room conditions during the site survey.

What connections does the MCore provide?

The MCore has two HDMI video outputs with CEC support, four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a 10/100/1000M Ethernet port, a power port and a security lock slot. It also includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The UVC84 camera connects to it by USB, and the CP960 links over the same local network, so plan switch ports and display inputs during installation.

How is the CP960 powered and cabled?

The CP960 is powered over Ethernet to IEEE 802.3af, class 4, or by a PoE adapter rated 54V/0.56A. The manufacturer describes one-cable technology, which removes the separate USB run from the display area to the table. You will need a PoE switch or adapter port near the table, so confirm cable routes during the site survey before installation.

Can our IT team manage the kits remotely?

Yes. Yealink Device Management Platform, or its cloud service, supports remote configuration, firmware upgrading, monitoring and diagnosis for ZVC640 kits. Driver and Zoom Rooms plug-in updates reach the MCore through Windows Update. Ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm which management option suits your network before requesting a quote, especially if you run several rooms.

Would this suit a university lecture room in Education City?

It suits a medium or large lecture or seminar room where a lecturer presents to students and joins colleagues abroad. The CP960 works as a meeting console and microphone, and the camera zoom reaches a presenter at the front of the room. A university buyer should confirm room size and camera position first, then request a quote naming the equipment.

Could a hotel conference room in Lusail use it?

A hotel or serviced apartment conference room in Lusail or The Pearl that hosts remote speakers could benefit from the wide pickup range and 12x zoom. The CP960 covers a six-metre radius, extendable to 12 metres with optional wireless microphones. Confirm furniture layout, ceiling height and power points during the free site survey before the event date.

How do ministries buy a model like this in Qatar?

Government ministries and authorities in West Bay usually buy through purchase orders, LPOs or Monaqasat tenders. Because the ZVC640 is discontinued, a tender should specify a current equivalent that meets the same room-size requirement. SmartRooms Qatar accepts purchase orders and LPOs, supports government tenders including Monaqasat, and usually issues quotations within one working day.
