What the M60-12U does in a video wall system
The Dahua M60-12U is a 19-inch, 12U chassis that combines video input, decoding, matrix switching and network management in one controller. Its pluggable card design fills up to 11 slots: one main control board and ten video and audio function boards. Function cards support hot-swap, so a faulty card can be replaced without powering down the whole unit, and the mainframe includes redundant power.
Capacity, splicing and source handling
When fully configured, the chassis encodes 80 channels at 1080P. For decoding it is rated at 60 channels at 32MP (25fps), 240 channels at 8MP (25fps), 960 channels at 1080P or 3,840 channels at D1, depending on the stream type you run. Video wall splicing covers up to 180 screens, with zoom, merge, roam and overlay functions. Digital and network sources can be mixed, and outputs are HDMI or BNC depending on the decoding card fitted.
Networking and control options
The main board provides 8 RJ-45 ports at 10/100/1000M and 8 optical ports. These two sets cannot run at the same time, so choose the one that matches your cabling. Network interface bandwidth is 8Gbps, and the platform accepts up to 5,000 cameras. Protocol support covers TCP/IP, RTP, RTSP, RTCP, UDP and DHCP. Operators can control the wall from a web browser, a local GUI, the video management platform, a network keyboard or an iPad.

Power consumption is rated at 800W maximum. The input range is 100-127V AC and 200-240V AC at 50/60Hz, which covers Qatar's 240 V, 50 Hz mains. The operating range is 0 to +50°C at 10-90% RH. With summer temperatures above 45°C, the rack should sit in an air-conditioned room with clear airflow to the smart temperature controlled fan.
