Name: Elo 4343L 42.5-inch Open Frame Touchscreen (Discontinued)
Brand: Elo
SKU: elo-4343l
Availability: Discontinued

Overview

The Elo 4343L is a discontinued 42.5-inch full HD open-frame touchscreen with 12-point PCAP touch, a 66.4 mm body and 24-hour rated operation. The manufacturer has replaced it with the 4363L. It suits kiosk builders and facilities teams in Qatar who already run this model or need a slim touch display for a space-limited self-service unit. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or compatible replacement.

A slim 42.5-inch touch panel for kiosks with limited depth

The Elo 4343L is a 42.5-inch open-frame touchscreen with a 1920 x 1080 full HD panel and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is built for integrators who must fit a touch display into a narrow cabinet: the complete unit measures 66.4 mm (2.61 inches) deep, so less internal space is lost to the screen. Elo has discontinued this model and replaced it with the 4363L. This page serves organisations that already run a 4343L and need to plan maintenance, and buyers comparing options who want to see what this older unit offered before choosing.

Touch and display performance

Touch is TouchPro projected capacitive (PCAP) with 12-point multi-touch, and touch data travels over USB. The LCD is rated at 450 nits typical and the touch-integrated module at 387 nits, with 1100:1 contrast and a 12 ms typical response time. The viewing angle is 178 degrees both horizontally and vertically, which helps when several people approach the screen from different sides. Video arrives through HDCP-capable HDMI or analog VGA, and the panel displays 16.7 million colours.

Rugged glass and energy use for round-the-clock operation

The touch glass is tested for impact: it meets the UL 60950 ball-drop requirement and carries an IK06 impact rating, and it is sealed against dirt and dust. The unit is rated for operation up to 24 hours a day. Typical draw with the monitor and AC/DC adapter is 58.44 W on at 240 V and 50 Hz, 1.26 W in sleep and 0.35 W when off. It carries Energy Star 7.0 certification and an EU energy efficiency rating of A. Mean time between failures is quoted at 50,000 hours, demonstrated.

Where the 4343L fits in Qatar

Hotel check-in in West Bay: a slim kiosk in an air-conditioned lobby, where the wide viewing angle helps guests read it from the side.
Transport and airport information: a wayfinding point near Hamad International Airport, with ball-drop and impact-rated glass for busy public use.
Government service counter in Doha: a self-service information terminal that must stay within its 0 to 40 degree operating range inside an air-conditioned hall.

Qatar summers regularly push outdoor temperatures above 45°C, and the 4343L is rated to 40°C in operation. Install it indoors, away from sun-facing glass and outdoor doorways, and confirm the enclosure cooling with the SmartRooms Qatar team before the cabinet is built. Dust storms make a sealed front more important, and touch through glass is available on request.

Questions about 4343L

Is the Elo 4343L still sold as a current model?

No. Elo has discontinued the 4343L and replaced it with the 4363L. SmartRooms Qatar can quote the 4363L or another compatible replacement if your kiosk needs a current unit. If you already own a 4343L, our team can compare its specifications with your cabinet design before you plan a replacement. Quotations are usually issued within one working day.

What screen size and resolution does the 4343L offer?

It has a 42.5-inch active matrix TFT LCD with 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The active area measures 941.2 x 529.4 mm. The panel also accepts lower modes such as 1280 x 720 and 1024 x 768, and it displays 16.7 million colours. That suits kiosk menus, maps and video loops in a hotel lobby or a government information point in Doha.

How is the touchscreen connected to a PC or media player?

Touch uses a USB interface with TouchPro projected capacitive technology and 12-point multi-touch. Video arrives through HDCP-capable HDMI or analog VGA on a DE-15 connector. The box includes an HDMI cable, a VGA cable and a USB cable (Type A to B). Your PC or media player must supply both the video signal and the USB touch connection.

Can the 4343L run 24 hours a day in a hotel or mall kiosk?

The product is rated for a maximum operating time of 24 hours per day, so it suits always-on kiosks. The limit that matters in practice is ambient heat. The operating range is 0°C to 40°C with 20% to 80% humidity. A hotel lobby in West Bay or a mall entrance in Lusail should be air-conditioned, with the kiosk kept out of direct sun, to stay inside that range.

How does the 40°C operating limit affect installation in Qatar?

Outdoor summer temperatures in Qatar often exceed 45°C, which is above the 4343L's 40°C operating limit. Its storage range is wider, from -20°C to 60°C, but that does not mean it can run at those temperatures. Plan indoor locations away from windows and external doors, check cabinet ventilation, and confirm your enclosure design with the SmartRooms Qatar team before requesting a quote.

How deep is the unit and what cabinet space should I plan for?

The overall dimensions are 999.3 x 587.5 x 66.4 mm, which is 2.61 inches deep. The unit weighs 18.2 kg without packaging and 24.1 kg in its shipping box. Measure the cabinet opening against the full outline and allow clearance for rear connectors and cables. If the cabinet is built to a fixed design, book a free site survey before fabrication.

How is the panel mounted?

The rear has a 400 x 400 mm VESA 4-hole mounting interface. For a flush front finish, eight flush-mount brackets and 48 screws are included in the accessories box. The frame or wall must carry at least 18.2 kg, so ask a professional installer to confirm the load and fixings. SmartRooms Qatar offers professional installation across Qatar.

How much power does it use, and does it carry energy labels?

Typical power is 58.44 W when on at 240 V and 50 Hz, including the monitor and AC/DC adapter. Sleep draws 1.26 W and off draws 0.35 W at the same supply. The model carries Energy Star 7.0 certification and an EU energy efficiency rating of A. These are typical values from the manufacturer, so estimate running costs against your own usage pattern.

Can the touch glass be sealed for dusty or outdoor-adjacent sites?

The touchscreen is sealed to the bezel and to the LCD, and touch through glass is available on request. In a sealed solution the front can achieve an IP65 rating, according to the manufacturer's data. Sealing does not extend the operating range, so the 0°C to 40°C limit still applies. Because dust storms occur in Qatar, ask for the touch-through-glass option with your quotation.

Which languages does the on-screen menu support?

The OSD offers English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese. Arabic is not in the manufacturer's list, so confirm the interface language with the SmartRooms Qatar team before specifying the unit for a school or government kiosk that serves Arabic-speaking users. Menus are controlled with the OSD remote or the side buttons.

What warranty applies and what extensions are available?

The manufacturer lists a 3-year warranty, and the unit is covered by it. Extended coverage is also listed: a 4-year option (Elo part E740135) and a 5-year option (Elo part E740330). Request these in your quotation if the kiosk must run for longer, and ask SmartRooms Qatar for the full warranty terms before you order.

What is in the box, and which accessories are optional?

The box contains the 4343L, a quick guide, an energy label, the OSD remote, HDMI, VGA and USB cables, three power cables for North American, EU/Korean and UK plugs, eight flush-mount brackets and 48 bracket screws. Optional accessories include the OSD remote with RJ45 connection (Elo part E483757) and a PCAP stylus pen (Elo part E066148).
