Overview

The Newline Elara is a 4K interactive display from Newline's Elara series, sold in 65, 75 and 86-inch sizes with an IR touch layer, a camera and an 8-microphone array. Newline has discontinued this model. Schools, universities and offices in Qatar that already run Elara panels, or are comparing hybrid displays, should request a quote for a current equivalent or replacement from SmartRooms Qatar.

What the Newline Elara is

The Newline Elara is an interactive display built for hybrid teaching and meetings. It combines a 4K LED panel with optical bonding, an IR touch layer, a camera and a microphone array in one unit, so a single screen can serve people in the room and people joining from elsewhere. The series is listed in 65, 75 and 86-inch sizes. Newline has discontinued this model, so buyers should treat it as a legacy product and plan around a current replacement.

The specifications that shape the decision

Every listed size has a 3840 × 2160 (4K) resolution, a 178° viewing angle, 400 cd/m² brightness and a 5000:1 contrast ratio. Wide viewing angles matter in rooms where students sit to the side of the panel. The response time is 6 ms, and the touch surface is antimicrobial tempered glass, certified by TÜV according to the manufacturer.

Touch: IR touch with 40 touch points on Windows and 20 on Android, with 2 styluses listed in the specification
Audio: two 20 W front speakers and a 15 W subwoofer, with an 8-microphone array that picks up voices up to 8 m away
Connectivity: USB-C with 100 W power delivery, integrated Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, plus an OPS slot
Platform: Android 11 with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage
User access: NFC login and six user profiles, one admin and five users

Standard-mode power draw is 133 W for the 65-inch, 150 W for the 75-inch and 168 W for the 86-inch, with standby below 0.5 W. Two proximity sensors switch the panel on and off with human presence, and the blue light filter is built into the LED backlight.

Where it fits in Qatar

A private school in Al Wakrah converting classrooms to blended lessons could use the 65-inch size, with the built-in camera and microphones letting a teacher share a lesson with a partner class or a visiting specialist. A meeting room in Doha where teams work in Arabic and English at the same time benefits from the camera and microphones for calls with colleagues abroad. A ministry boardroom in Msheireb connecting with teams outside the country would suit the 86-inch size, which gives a larger image for presentations viewed from the far end of the table.

What to plan before you order

Net weights are 39 kg for the 65-inch, 50 kg for the 75-inch and 65 kg for the 86-inch, so arrange a free site survey to check wall structure, fixing points and cable routes before installation. The listed VESA patterns are 600 × 400 mm for the 65-inch and 800 × 400 mm for the 75-inch and 86-inch, and the outline dimensions exclude the wall mount. The source data does not give an operating temperature range, so confirm room conditions with the SmartRooms Qatar team before placing the panel near windows or in spaces without air conditioning, where summer temperatures can pass 45°C.

Because Newline has discontinued the Elara, request a quote from SmartRooms Qatar and we will identify a current equivalent or compatible replacement that matches your room size and software needs. Quotations are usually issued within one working day.

Questions about Elara

Is the Newline Elara still made by Newline?

No. Newline has discontinued the Elara, so it should be treated as a legacy model. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement for organisations that need a 4K interactive display with a camera and microphone array. If you already own an Elara, send us details of your current installation so we can recommend the most suitable replacement option.

Who is the Elara best suited to?

The Elara suits teachers and meeting hosts who need one screen for in-room teaching and remote participation. A private school in Al Wakrah running blended lessons, or a training centre in Doha whose trainers connect with partner sites abroad, would use its 4K panel, built-in camera and microphone array together. Its 178° viewing angle also helps students seated at the sides see the same detail as those at the front.

What sizes did the Elara series come in, and how heavy are they?

The source data lists the Elara in 65, 75 and 86-inch sizes, with net weights of 39 kg, 50 kg and 65 kg respectively. Choose the 65-inch for smaller classrooms and meeting rooms, and the 75-inch or 86-inch for larger lecture halls or boardrooms. Check the chosen size against your wall width and height before ordering, and we will confirm full dimensions in your quotation.

How do the built-in camera and microphones work for remote lessons?

The Elara includes a 4K camera with a 120° field of view and an 8-microphone array with an 8 m pickup distance. The specification also lists echo cancellation, beamforming and noise reduction. In practice, a teacher at the front of a Doha classroom can speak at a normal volume and be heard clearly by a partner class or a remote specialist. Test room acoustics during the free site survey before installation.

What connections does the Elara offer for laptops and other devices?

The listed ports include a USB Type-C port that powers a connected laptop at 100 W, HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.2 input, a Gigabit RJ45 port, RS232 and an HDMI output. The specification also lists an OPS slot, an SDM-S slot and an NFC reader, with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 integrated. A single USB-C cable can carry data, audio, video and power from a compatible laptop.

How should we plan wall mounting for an 86-inch Elara in a boardroom?

The 86-inch model has a net weight of 65 kg, and the source data gives an 800 × 400 mm VESA pattern. Outline dimensions exclude the wall mount. Book a free site survey so SmartRooms Qatar can check wall construction, fixing points, access routes and cable paths before installation. A panel of this weight should not be fixed to a wall without confirmed structural support. We usually send the quotation within one working day after the survey.

Does the Elara work on Qatar's 240 V mains supply?

The source data gives power consumption for each size: 133 W for the 65-inch, 150 W for the 75-inch and 168 W for the 86-inch in standard mode, and below 0.5 W in standby. It does not list an input voltage in the material we hold. Before ordering, the SmartRooms Qatar team will confirm the electrical specification with the manufacturer and check that the sockets and circuits in your building are suitable.

How do user profiles and NFC login help a school where several teachers share a room?

The Elara supports six user profiles, one admin and five users, so each teacher can save a home screen, apps and personal settings. NFC login lets each user sign in with an NFC card or sticker instead of typing a password in front of students. A school in Al Rayyan sharing one classroom between several teachers can save the time lost to logging in and reconfiguring the screen at the start of every lesson.

Can a government body or school order the Elara through a purchase order or government tender?

Yes. SmartRooms Qatar supplies government ministries, schools and public bodies on purchase orders (LPOs) and through government tenders, including Monaqasat. Payment can be made by bank transfer, cheque or purchase order. Because the Elara is discontinued, a tender quotation would cover a current equivalent. A school ordering several units should list sizes, quantities and sites in the request so the quotation covers each room. Delivery reaches all 8 municipalities of Qatar.

What should we compare if the Elara is no longer available?

Compare panel size, 4K resolution, touch technology and number of touch points, camera and microphone performance, operating system, and the port list, including USB-C power for a laptop. Check whether an OPS slot is available for your computer, and confirm antimicrobial glass, blue light filtering and user profile support. Send your room dimensions and intended use to SmartRooms Qatar, and we will quote a current equivalent or compatible replacement.
