What the Yealink CTP20 does at the meeting table

The Yealink CTP20 is a 13.3-inch touch panel that sits on the conference table and handles meeting control for a compatible Yealink video conferencing endpoint. Instead of using a remote, participants can preview and adjust the camera, join or create a meeting, change the participant layout and start recording directly on the screen. It is built for small and medium meeting rooms where one person runs the call and everyone else needs a simple, shared surface.

This model is discontinued. Yealink ended sales of the CTP20 on 30 June 2023, and new orders are no longer accepted. Yealink's end-of-life policy states that the first year after end of sale includes hardware and software technical support along with bug and security fixes. From the second to the fifth year, Yealink attempts software bug fixes but does not add new features, and hardware spares depend on local distributors and stock. Up to four CTP20 units can share one system when paired with the VC880, VC800 or VC500 endpoint, while the VC200 supports one unit at a time. When paired with the WPP20 wireless presentation pod, participants can annotate shared content on the panel and gain reverse control of the computer. The WPP20 is a separate Yealink product.

Connectivity, power and what to confirm before ordering

The panel connects to the endpoint over a single RJ45 Ethernet cable that also carries power through PoE (IEEE 802.3af, 48V 0.27A), or over 2.4G/5G Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11n/ac). Power consumption is 7W. A USB 2.0 Type-A port records to a USB flash drive. Yealink states that the built-in microphone and USB 2.0 Type-C content sharing with a PC will be supported through software updates, so confirm the firmware status with SmartRooms Qatar before relying on them.

In a small boardroom in West Bay or Msheireb, a CTP20 at the table lets the chair start a call with the Doha team and a partner office abroad without leaving the table. In a university research room in Education City, it suits small group sessions where students and faculty annotate shared material on the whiteboard. A government office that runs Arabic and English sessions side by side can use the panel to switch layouts and manage recording from one place.

The source data does not give an operating temperature range for the CTP20.
