Overview

The Yealink UVC40 is an all-in-one USB video bar for small and huddle rooms, with a 20MP SONY 1-inch CMOS camera, a 133° field of view, an 8 MEMS microphone array and a 5W speaker in one unit. Yealink has discontinued this model and no longer accepts new orders for it. SmartRooms Qatar can quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement for teams in Doha and across Qatar.

What the UVC40 does in a small meeting room

The Yealink UVC40 places a camera, a microphone array and a speaker in one housing. Yealink designed it for small and huddle rooms and rates it for up to six participants. The bar mounts under a TV, on a wall or on a table, and connects to a computer with one USB cable. Yealink has discontinued this model, with an end-of-sale date of 31 August 2024, so this page serves organisations that already own one, buyers comparing it with newer models, and anyone looking for a replacement.

Camera framing and privacy

The camera uses a 20-megapixel SONY 1-inch CMOS sensor with a 133° diagonal field of view, 120° horizontal and 80° vertical. Everyone around a short table can stay in shot without anyone moving the device. Auto Framing adjusts the picture to the number and position of people, and Speaker Tracking moves the view to the person talking. AI Face Enhancement improves brightness and clarity in dim rooms or where a window sits behind the group.

An 8x e-PTZ function and camera presets are included. The electric lens cap opens when a meeting starts and stays closed when the room is not in use, which protects privacy in shared spaces.

Audio pickup, connections and software

The built-in eight-microphone MEMS array uses Yealink Noise Proof Technology, beamforming pickup, echo cancellation and dereverberation to capture voices from across the table. Full-duplex operation lets both ends of a call speak at once. The 5W speaker has a stated frequency response of 105 Hz to 20 kHz.

USB 3.0 Type-B port for the computer
USB 2.0 Type-A port and 3.5mm line-in port
Yealink microphone port (RJ-45) for an extension microphone
Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2

It is listed for Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, and for Mac OS 10.10 or later, using standard UVC 1.0 and UAC 1.0 drivers.

Where it fits in Qatar

A staff huddle room at a school in Al Rayyan, with a TV above the table and a staff laptop, is a typical fit. A consultancy office in West Bay or Msheireb can use the same setup for calls with clients abroad, with Speaker Tracking keeping the view on whoever is speaking.

Heat is the main environmental limit. The operating temperature range is 0 to 40°C at 10 to 95% humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so install the UVC40 only in an air-conditioned room, away from lobbies, outdoor areas and unconditioned storage.

What to plan before you order

Measure the room and confirm it suits up to six participants.
Check the computer operating system and video platform before ordering.
Plan the mounting point for the 600 mm bar and its wall bracket.
Map the 7m USB cable route between the bar and the computer.

Yealink's end-of-life policy limits support over time: full technical support in the first year after end-of-sale, bug fixes at Yealink's discretion in years two to five, and no new features after end-of-life. Hardware spares depend on local distributors.

Questions about UVC40

Is the Yealink UVC40 still available to order?

Yealink has discontinued the UVC40 with an end-of-sale date of 31 August 2024, and the manufacturer no longer accepts new orders for this model. SmartRooms Qatar can still quote a current equivalent or a compatible replacement. Tell us your room size, the number of participants and the video platform your team uses, and our team will usually return a quotation within one working day.

Is the UVC40 suited to a six-person meeting room in a Doha office?

Yes, within its design limit. Yealink positions the UVC40 for small and huddle rooms and rates it for up to six participants. Its 133° field of view captures people seated around a short table without adjusting the camera. A larger boardroom is better served by a system designed for wider rooms, which SmartRooms Qatar can recommend in the quotation.

What camera does the UVC40 use and what does it cover?

The UVC40 uses a 20-megapixel camera with a SONY 1-inch CMOS sensor. Its diagonal field of view is 133°, with 120° horizontal and 80° vertical coverage. It includes an 8x e-PTZ function and camera presets. The electric lens cap covers the lens when no meeting is running, which helps in shared rooms that several departments use.

How do Auto Framing and Speaker Tracking help a call with a team abroad?

When a team in Doha connects with colleagues in another country, the remote side needs to see who is speaking. Auto Framing adjusts the picture to the number and position of participants, and Speaker Tracking zooms in on the person talking. AI Face Enhancement improves brightness in dim rooms or when a window sits behind the participants.

Which video platforms and computers does the UVC40 support?

The UVC40 is listed for Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, Zoom Room and the Zoom client, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, GoToMeeting, BlueJeans and others. It connects to a PC over USB 3.0 using standard UVC 1.0 and UAC 1.0 drivers. The specification lists Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, and Mac OS 10.10 or higher, so check your operating system version before ordering.

Would the UVC40 suit a staff huddle room at a school in Al Rayyan?

Yes, if the room seats six people or fewer. Mount the bar under a wall-mounted TV with the included wall bracket or the optional TV mount kit, then connect it to a staff laptop with the 7m USB cable. The package includes the VCR20 remote control. Ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm the mounting height and cable route during the free site survey.

Can the UVC40 sit in a reception area or lobby during a Doha summer?

No. The UVC40 operates between 0 and 40°C at 10 to 95% humidity. Summer temperatures in Qatar can exceed 45°C, so install the unit only in an air-conditioned meeting room. Check that the room stays within the rated range, especially in rooms that receive direct sunlight through windows.

What power supply does the UVC40 need in Qatar?

The UVC40 uses an external Yealink power adapter with an AC 100 to 240V input and a DC 48V, 0.7A output. That input range covers Qatar's 240V, 50 Hz mains supply. Confirm the plug type with the SmartRooms Qatar team when you request a quote, so it matches the sockets at your installation site.

How much space and wall planning does the UVC40 need in a Lusail office?

The bar measures 600 x 68 x 82 mm, and the wall bracket measures 127.5 x 143 x 82 mm. Plan a level, clear position directly under or beside the display, and allow room for the USB cable route to the computer. For an office in Lusail or West Bay, SmartRooms Qatar offers a free site survey to check wall type, mounting height and cable path before any drilling.

Can IT staff manage the UVC40 remotely?

Yes. The UVC40 has built-in Wi-Fi that allows remote device management, configuration, diagnosis and upgrades. The specification lists Yealink RoomConnect, Yealink USB Connect and the Yealink Device Management Platform or Management Cloud Service as management tools. IT teams can check device status across several rooms without visiting each one.

What comes in the box with the UVC40?

The package contains the UVC40 all-in-one USB video bar, a VCR20 remote control with two AAA batteries, the external power adapter, a wall bracket with accessories and a 7m USB cable. A TV mount kit is available as an optional extra. Compare this list with your installation plan and ask SmartRooms Qatar to confirm any optional items in your quotation.

What support can I expect for a discontinued UVC40?

Yealink's end-of-life policy provides full hardware and software technical support in the first year after end-of-sale, including security fixes. From the second to the fifth year, Yealink attempts software bug fixes at its discretion, and it offers no new features after end-of-life. Hardware spares depend on local distributors and stock. If you need ongoing feature updates, request a quote for a current model.
